About Our HVAC Services

What Could Affect the Efficiency of an HVAC System?

Several key factors can influence the efficiency and performance of an HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system:

Air Leaks
Unsealed gaps or leaks in windows, doors, or ductwork can lead to energy loss and reduce system efficiency.

Ductwork
Poorly designed, damaged, or obstructed ducts can restrict airflow and strain the HVAC system.

Insulation
Inadequate insulation allows heat transfer, making it harder for the system to maintain desired temperatures.

Maintenance
Regular servicing, including filter changes and inspections, is crucial for optimal performance and longevity.

System Size
An HVAC system that is too large or too small for the space will operate inefficiently and may lead to increased energy costs.

Weather Conditions
Extreme temperatures, humidity, and seasonal changes can affect how hard the system has to work.

Why Is HVAC Important in a Facility?

HVAC is crucial to the running of a building. It regulates indoor air temperature, humidity levels, and air quality for a healthy and comfortable environment. This is helpful throughout all seasons, providing heating in the colder months, and air-conditioning in the warmer months.

An additional bonus of an HVAC system is the prevention of mould and mildew, which has the potential to cause health problems with prolonged exposure.

Humidity levels are also reduced and able to be controlled with these systems.

How Often Should I Replace My HVAC System?

Depending on how well your HVAC system is looked after and maintained, how much it is used, the overall quality of the system, they can generally last around 10-15 years before their mechanisms begin to fail or work less ideally than before.

It is often recommended that you replace your HVAC system if it is over 10 years old and experiencing frequent breakdowns or needing repairs often. If it happens that the cost of repairing your system is equal to or more than half the amount of a new system, it may be that replacing it is the more cost-effective option.
